On Monday in observance of MLK Day of Service we returned to Alliance Medical Ministry to volunteer in their garden. We were thrilled they were able to host us for the 2nd year in a row, and this year we even had some team member’s kiddos in tow to amplify our support!
Improving our local communities is integral to the fabric of our team, and on this day in particular we dedicate time to honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.
For those who aren’t familiar with Alliance Medical Ministry, it is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing “compassionate, whole-person primary care for working, uninsured adults in order to reduce health disparities in Wake County”.
Access to wellness classes and affordable, nutritious food is a big part of their holistic approach to healthcare. Each year the Alliance Medical Ministry garden harvests ~2,000 lbs of produce which is distributed to patients along with recipe ideas for cooking the vegetables with optimal nutrition in mind.
To boot - they offer amazing volunteer opportunities for groups and individuals alike. Thank you for having us again Alliance Medical Ministry!
