Between local favorites Trophy Brewing and Irregardless, sits a trio of houses located just as the road begins to bend towards Hillsborough St. In 2022 these buildings were purchased with a vision of bringing new life and purpose to the structures (which had fallen into a bit of disrepair), and a project aptly named “The Bend” was born.
The homes were originally built as single family residences and over the years have been occupied by commercial uses. Today they are being restored and renovated to become the future homes of three exciting concepts. 851 W Morgan will be the upcoming home to State of Beer (beloved bottle shop and restaurant currently off Hillsborough St) and 853 W Morgan will transform into a new venture…The Bend Bar - a cozy neighborhood spot serving up cocktails, beer and wine. The concept for 849 Morgan is still being developed.
An expansive patio will connect State of Beer and The Bend Bar, boasting ample outdoor seating for those who crave the open air. Additional outdoor space beyond the patio will accommodate live music and plenty of other possibilities. This amount of outdoor space so close to downtown is truly splendid.
With the recent addition of Gussie’s restaurant and the newly opened Wolfe & Porter bar - this stretch of Morgan St is rapidly becoming a Raleigh hot spot! For more information check out the recently published articles by Raleigh Magazine and News & Observer.
