This summer Raleigh’s Five Points neighborhood received a new addition…Ajja!
With a name stemming from the Hindu and Urdu word “come over”, this Mediterranean meets Middle Eastern restaurant offers amazing fare along with an intimate neighborhood vibe. A vibrant and warm atmosphere welcomes you and invites you in.
The cozy indoor bar and seating area meets an expansive covered patio providing ample seating options for al fresco diners. A large, u-shaped bar serves as the focal point of the outdoor space. Globe lights and colorful paper lanterns hang from the ceiling boosting the space’s alluring mood.
The owners of this delightful eatery are certainly not new to the Raleigh restaurant scene. Many of you are likely familiar with their revered restaurant, Garland, which they decided to close in 2022 and focus on their plans for Ajja. In contrast with Garland’s downtown locale, Ajja’s downtown adjacent location presents visitors with a backyard view of the Raleigh skyline.
Interestingly enough - the building that is now Ajja hosted the first Garland staff holiday party and other events over the years. While Ajja is very much a new and different venture for the owners, it feels fortuitous that there’s history with the space.
