It’s time for an update on some of our favorite projects that have been completed over the past few years. First up, Sam Jones BBQ which opened its Raleigh location in February of 2021. Hardli Gras!

We didn’t want to let this week get away from us without sharing what a great time we had at the inaugural Hardli Gras event this past Sunday.

Orchestrated in part by our very own Marisa Lappin, the day started at Tasty Beverage with beignets and purchasing to-go beverages in preparation for the Hardli Gras Sidewalk Stroll (accompanied by the Boom Unit Brass Band), ending up at Crank Arm for more music, beverages, food and fun. Crank Arm even brewed up a King Cake blonde ale for the occasion!

Historic Preservation Project - Siler City, NC

Check out this historic, adaptive reuse project in Siler City, NC. Built in 1945, this two-story commercial building had 2 retail tenants on the 1st floor, and offices on the 2nd floor. The offices were converted into 4 apartments, and the retail spaces were renovated for new tenants on the first floor and basement.

Siler City (located in western Chatham County) has a long-standing history as an art hub featuring nearly a dozen large murals as well as the NC Arts Incubator. Their vibrant downtown offers historical charm as well as local shops and restaurants. This historic preservation project creates new opportunities for people to live and work downtown. There’s already a retail tenant moving in!

Stone Houses Groundbreaking - Dix Park

We had a great time yesterday at the Stone Houses Groundbreaking at Dix Park! It’s an honor to be a part of this restoration project. Once the renovations are complete these buildings will provide beautiful, functional space that will increase the already positive impact that Dix Park has on the community. Swipe to catch a glimpse of the stone houses as is…they won’t look like this for long!

Beginning in 2011 with their flagship location in Apex, Donovan’s Dish offers full-service catering, Take Out Markets, and Dish to Door meal delivery. The new space has a public storefront, and a beautiful commercial kitchen in the back of house.  Doors will be opening soon and we'll keep you posted!

"Shackie's" Renovation - Kure Beach, NC

The old surf shack known as “Shackie” is getting ready for a rehaul and total renovation! We will raise up and relocate the existing cottage on the same site, adding new square footage below and behind it. A new roof and porch will encompass the house, preserving the interior and exterior finishes. The interior of the shack should still feel very much the same, but will accommodate the growing needs of the family for years to come.

In the Community - MLK Day of Service

The Maurer team enjoyed our time this Monday with Alliance Medical Ministry! In honor of MLK Day of Service, we spent the morning volunteering in their community garden. We are grateful for the opportunity to support this incredible organization as well as the chance to get more involved with our local community!

Located next to its namesake, the goal of this project is to create a pleasant and relaxing space where people can enjoy great beer and each other. We are excited to be working with the ENB team as they get closer to bringing their vision of the brewery experience to life. Looking forward to sharing the finished space later this spring.

Havoc Brewery

There is exciting work happening here, in the heart of downtown Pittsboro! This warehouse, which originally served as the Chatham Motor Company, is now being converted to Havoc Brewery. In this 8,500 square foot space there will be a taproom, a 15 barrel production brewhouse, 1 barrel pilot brewhouse, and plenty of outdoor seating. Construction will be completed in early 2023, we can’t wait!

Wake Forest Food Hall

From a S&W Chevrolet dealership to a lively food hall, this 80-year old building is undergoing a huge transformation! This food hall, located in the north end of downtown Wake Forest, will offer a variety of indoor and outdoor dining options with special events planned. It will also be encompassed by a 2.5 acre space which will become a pet-friendly, park-like setting to relax. Coming 2023!
