Pittsboro Community House Update

This adorable stone house is nearing completion!

Dating back to 1936, this building serves the town of Pittsboro as a Community House and has most recently been used for events. The design phase is complete, and work is underway to update the space with modern amenities as well as improve accessibility. The Community House will reopen for events once work is complete.

The original stone walls and amazing stone fireplace are being preserved. Initially the plan was to preserve the original hardwood floors, but due to extensive wear and tear over the years new flooring will be installed.

Recent progress includes:
-Kitchen cabinetry and countertops have been installed
-A new ADA ramp is being poured
-New windows have been installed in the basement
-New restrooms have been framed and painted
-The ceilings have been reframed and new lighting installed
