The Shepherds worked with Maurer Architecture, Greg Paul Builders and Bryan Costello Design to repair and add onto the Italianate-style building, which became a National Historic Landmark in 1978. It features restored 15-foot ceilings, original hardwood floors and grand common areas with a modern Victorian design.
“We tried to take cues from the existing architecture and sprinkle them throughout the newer moments of the house,” Jeff Shepherd said.
“It was a lot of fun and we’re really excited to see it all finally come together,” Sarah Shepherd added. “I hope that it feels right and people will appreciate that blend of old and new.”
