Since 1976, the federal and state historic rehabilitation tax credit programs have privately invested $2.571 billion into North Carolina communities! Historic rehabilitation projects have taken place in 90 out of 100 North Carolina counties. These projects boost local economies, while also preserving the priceless, historic character of our state.
Historic preservation effectively creates jobs, generates income, and stimulates tax revenue. The reuse of existing structures supports both historic preservation and environmental sustainability principles. We are proud to be an integral part of the important preservation work that is happening throughout North Carolina.
