On Thursday Feb 28, the Raleigh Historic Development Commission's Certificate of Appropriateness Committee approved plans for the restoration of the Andrews Duncan House! Located in the North Blount St. Historic District, the plans propose to remove a non-historic addition on the south elevation of the building and rebuild an original porch in this location based on documentary photographs.
The Raleigh Historic Landmark is owned by the State of North Carolina and currently under contract to be sold. Many thanks to Ian Dunn at the State Archives for finding the historic photos! Check out more information about the Andrews Duncan House at the link below.
