Preservation NC Conference Recap!

The Preservation NC Conference was a great success and it was wonderful to see old friends and meet new ones, attend interesting sessions, and explore the historic buildings in Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach!  We always come back from this event feeling inspired and excited to continue the good work.

James Goodnight was honored with a Carraway Award for 21 S. Front St. in Wilmington, and Todd Jones and Kimberly Brackett Jones were awarded a Carraway Award for the restoration of the Norris House in Raleigh!  We are so proud to have been partners in the preservation of these historic buildings and enjoyed celebrating with the winners on Friday at the PNC Honor Awards.

We also had the opportunity to share some of our restoration work with fellow preservationists by leading a guided Downtown Revitalization tour of the S. Front St. Buildings in Wilmington.  Over thirty people joined us to see the historic tax credit projects in various stages of rehabilitation, and to learn about the particular challenges and rewards these projects presented.

We hope to see you at next year's annual PNC Conference!  In the meantime, join us at Preservation North Carolina's Fall Symposium, celebrating the completion of the headquarters project at the Hall and Graves-Fields House in Raleigh's Historic Oberlin Village.
